LOAD BANKS

Load Banks are used for performance testing of generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), voltage regulators, power transformers, alternators and test laboratories and for safe operation of generators. Smart Power Systems can provide load banks with all the features needed and perform their tests as follows;

In the desired character (R, L, C)

  • In the desired electrical character (AC, DC, V, A, kW)
  • At the desired level precision
  • At the desired control (manual, HMI controlled or automatic)
  • In the measurement method
  • At the desired place of use (internal or external)

Usage Areas:

Load Banks are widely used in many areas and applications in the industry. The more important the energy need, the more important it is to test, protect and maintain the resources that provide this energy temporarily or permanently.

The main areas of use of Load Banks are listed below;

  • Testing of products such as generators, UPS, regulators in the field or in the service workshop after maintenance and repair services
  • Idle operation of the generators is not desirable. In this case, when the load value supplied by the generator falls below a certain value (usually 30%), it is necessary to automatically provide artificial load
  • Automatically extinguishing the regenerative energy generated when the facilities where high power motors are driven with regenerative drivers need to be fed through the generator
  • In load shedding tests in power generation plants
  • In the testing of alternators used in military or civil air, land and sea vehicles
  • Controlled unloading of battery groups and testing of their capacities
  • In electrical and thermal simulation and performance tests of data centers to be established with data center load banks
  • In performance tests of inverters

Electrical Characteristics:

Load Banks can be produced for AC (50/60/400 Hz) or DC and LV or MV operating voltages.

Load banks according to load characteristic;

  • Resistive (kW-cosø: 1)
  • Inductive (kVAr)
  • Resistive + Inductive (kVA-cosø: desired)
